Granite Greatness @ NB Indoor Grand Prix!

Congratulations to Exeter’s Jackie Gaughan who took the Girls’ Junior Mile at last night’s obrienNew Balance Indoor Grand Prix in 4:52.57.  Always savvy, Gaughan measured the field of All-Stars, prior to taking the lead after 1000 meters making it a strength race.  The Granite State was well represented as Bedford’s Leya Salis battled to a 6th place finish in 4:57.60 and Oyster River’s Patrick O’Brien, running a disciplined, negative split race, placed 5th in 4:19.08.

Of note, the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix represents a rare opportunity to watch some of the best track and field athletes in the world.  Over and done with in 2 and 1/2 hours, it also represents the very best of our sport!  Within a short drive, fans were treated to a world record and watching gold medalists (Matt Centrowitz for example) compete!  World class athletes stay long after the event taking pics and signing autographs with fans both young and old… for free!  How many other professional athletes/sports do this???  Circle your calendars for 2018!  It is more than worth it!

Here are a few pics for example!
